Mark started his insurance journey in Ontario with Combined Insurance selling Accident and Sickness insurance policies door to door. Mark quickly advanced to the role of Sales Manager and built a winning sales team. In 1997, Mark was recruited by his Allstate Agent that had been noticing his career advancements and felt he would be a great addition to the Allstate family. Mark swiftly moved from his initial training role to that of a Neighbourhood Office Agent in St Thomas, Ontario. In 2019, Allstate changed their business model to that of “Super Agencies” and Mark became the Agency Manager at the London North Fanshawe location for 10 years. In doing so, Mark and his team doubled the book of business in this period of time, before opting for an early retirement.

After spending time in the Caribbean, it was time to get back to business. Mark and his family made the move to Calgary, Alberta and he started a new role as Branch Manager – Digital Team for Brokerlink. The Calgary branch was just starting to grow their Digital broker channel and Mark was able to grow a small team of 3 producers to a team 12 in his first year. This was a great opportunity to utilize his experience from the direct writer channel in Ontario, to a new Alberta market, and a new distribution model. In all of Mark’s previous roles, Teamwork has been the key to his ongoing, continued success. Mark takes pride in multiplying himself through others to accomplish great things as a team.

In the Fall of 2024, Mark joined the Central Agencies Ltd. & Broker Canada Team as their Director of Business Development. Central Agencies’ vision to grow in the West through their Broker Canada business model was exactly the opportunity he was looking for. Mark states “I’ve had the opportunity to meet and work with so many incredible business partners along my insurance journey and I am excited to build our future footprint in the West with Broker Canada”

Outside of working hours, there’s always something happening when you have a family of six children and two grandchildren. The winter months can be cold, and Mark & Barb enjoy travelling to the warmer climates whenever they can. Mark states that Alberta has amazing opportunities to paddleboard, explore the great outdoors and take in the occasional hockey game at the Saddledome, especially when the Toronto Maple Leafs are in town.
